Jiu Jitsu @ 6am is a good way to start the day!  I  must admit that it was a little difficult to get out of bed but I fought and won the battle.  The 6 am class consisted of 3 techniques- 1. Bicep cutter from guard, 2. When opponent is passing guard with under hooks how to counter to a triangle or arm bar, 3. Same but transitioning to omoplata.  I must say not a bad class to wake up too.  See you guys on the mat!

-Break, Pass, Cntrl!

How important is it to drill techniques?

Brazilian jiu-jitsu (BJJ) is a martial art that focuses largely on grappling and ground fighting. BJJ utilizes natural body leverage and technique to obtain dominant control on the ground.  As a result, bjj provides greater position for striking or submission holds.   BJJ has been proven, when used properly, to be an effective method for dealing with bigger and stronger opponents.  It has become increasingly popular due in part to success in the Ultimate Fighting Championship.  BJJ can be trained for self defense, sport grappling (gi and no-gi) and mixed martial arts competition.  BJJ is translated as “the gentle art,” Brazilian jiu-jitsu focuses on using strength and technique in the most efficient way possible to control and overcome opponents of greater size, strength and aggression.  For most of us BJJ is a way of life a life style that has taken over our mind, body and heart.  We train because we love it!
